12th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad: FUTURE HAMARA HAI

MIT-World Peace University's 12th edition of the Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (BCS) was a starry affair coming back to its physical avatar after a gap of two years due to the Pandemic. BCS is a unique event that brings the youth of today in conversation with leaders from different fields of expertise. It would not be an exaggeration to say that BCS is the largest classroom in the world where over 25,000 students join in and learn from global thought leaders about how to be aware citizens of the world.

This year's BCS was held at MIT-World Peace University's Kothrud campus from September 15 to 17. And the speakers included the present Dy CM of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis, former Lok Sabha Speakers Smt Meira Kumar, Shri Shivraj Patil & Smt Sumitra Mahajan, former ISRO chairman Dr K. Sivan, classical singer Smt Kaushiki Chakrabarty, AAP MP Shri Raghav Chadha, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Dr C.P. Joshi, eminent scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, Times Network's Group Editor Smt Navika Kumar, activist Irom Sharmila and singer Smt Hema Sardesai to name just a few.

The three days of Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad ensured that India's youth was informed, inspired and infused with knowledge and wisdom from the leaders of today so that they are able to usher in a better tomorrow.

This year’s BCS touched upon a range of topics that affect lives of people across the world. From nepotism to freedom of expression to the uniform civil code to corporatocracy, the sessions covered the most burning issues of today.

All the speakers were unanimous in their belief that young people should involve themselves more deeply in the process of nation-building and spreading the right message to their peers. The takeaway for our Media & Communications students was even greater as they learnt how to articulate complex issues with ease and humour.

In its 12th year, BCS is the brainchild of MIT World Peace University's Executive President Shri Rahul V. Karad who strongly believes that an informed and inspired youth can only take the country and the world to greater strengths and also bring about a world-wide civilization of peace, prosperity and understanding.
